The “set-back of a building” is a matter that simultaneously exists in the language of the city’s architecture and the building codes. But usually, not the municipality and nor the clients take it seriously, considering it economically disadvantageous.
In this project, the opportunity of giving a set-back to the site has been used to create quality spaces at the edge of the inside and outside of the building. This has also been considered as an approach for improving the proportion of “envelope” within a low width street.
